PRENEU (CEO Lee Jong-kyung), a drone design and manufacturing company, said it exported drones to respond to disasters through the 'Mozambique drone-based disaster management solution construction project' organized by Busan Techno Park (BusanTP).
The 'Mozambique drone-based disaster management solution construction project' will be conducted by the Korea-Africa Cooperation Fund (KOAFEC), and in April, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Mozambican Telecommunications and Digital Innovation Department (MCTD) signed an agreement with Busan TP.
> PREENEU's disaster response drone 'VTOL fixed wing' exported to Mozambique
This project aims to establish a disaster prediction, monitoring, and response system using drone technology for natural disasters in Mozambique, and conducts field operation training with nine drones. PRENEU and Hojung Solution participated in the drone production, and P&U drone is in charge of local training.
Export drones are VTOL fixed-wing manufactured based on modular design technology and localized avionics, which are the core technologies of PRENEU. The "MILVUS T240" is designed to fly for more than 100 minutes with a maximum takeoff weight of 8.6kg, and has key functions necessary for disaster response such as aerial imaging, exploration and monitoring, search and rescue. The "MILVUS T400" is a long-term air-type vertical take-off and landing aircraft that can fly for more than 180 minutes and has been recognized for its performance through the delivery of a drone dedicated to detection of fishing groups in the Dongwon industry.
PRENEU is a drone manufacturing company established in 2017. It directly designs and manufactures small drones with less than 25kg based on autonomous recognition △ VTOL fixed wing △ multi-copter type drone △ helicopter type drone, and also develops avionics and field systems and operating platforms required for drones. Starting next year, it will provide AI analysis and control operation services and MRO (maintenance and part management) services necessary for drone operation.
PRENEU CEO Lee Jong-kyung said, "It is very meaningful that domestically manufactured drones are used to respond to the Mozambican disaster. Based on this project, we will continue to propose local customized solutions to enhance the status of domestic drones," he said.
