Preneu, a specialized unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) company, has secured a contract to supply commercial training drones to the Republic of Korea (ROK) Army. The company plans to expand its presence in the defense market based on its proprietary airframe design, localized avionics components, and mass-production infrastructure certified under aerospace quality management standards.
On July 31, Preneu announced that it was selected as the final supplier and signed a contract for the “Commercial Training Drone Procurement Project” issued by the ROK Army Force Support System Group.

This project is a national defense support initiative designed to strengthen the ROK Army’s drone education and training system and foster skilled operators. The objective is to introduce localized commercial training drones to the military at scale, creating an environment where soldiers can master drone operation and tactical usage during their military service.
Established in 2017, Preneu is a specialized UAV design and manufacturing company. It has internalized key technologies, including airframe design and manufacturing, core avionics component development, and software systems. The company has accumulated deep technical expertise through various UAV projects across defense, public, and commercial sectors.
Key factors contributing to securing this contract included Preneu's localized manufacturing and production infrastructure for training drones, alongside its robust quality management system certified under AS9100 (Aerospace Quality Management System).
Preneu is scheduled to deliver 3,792 commercial training drones to the ROK Army by December 30. The supplied drones will be utilized to support stable flight training and operational education in military training facilities.
Leveraging this contract, Preneu plans to solidify its position in the defense market and accelerate the development of next-generation UAV technologies and business expansion.
Lee Jong-kyung, CEO of Preneu, stated:
"We plan to deliver high-quality training aircraft on schedule, backed by our proprietary technology and advanced mass-production system. Using this contract as a stepping stone, we will enhance the global reputation of K-Defense and build tactical unmanned system solutions to lead the global UAV market."
Preneu has recently been strengthening its defense business foundation, including being selected as a partner company by the Gyeonggi Defense Venture Center and acquiring the AS9100 certification. Building on these achievements, the company is actively developing AI-based autonomous flight systems and defense-specialized UAVs.
