PRENEU embraces
challenges without limits.

Exploring the drone market through differentiated technology

As unmanned aerial vehicles are accelerating across all industries and the drone industry is also expanding, it is worth noting that PRENEU Co., Ltd., which is leading the drone market through differentiated technology. The company is pioneering a new path in the drone market by making aggressive investments in unrivaled technology internalization, constant research and development, and human resource training. In addition, it has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Malaysian company to accelerate its entry into overseas markets.

With the recent shortage of manpower being imprinted as a global problem and the trend of unmanned aerial vehicles accelerating in various industries, demand for drones is also rising steeply on this trend. As a result, the domestic drone market, which was evaluated for its small scale and lack of differentiated competitiveness, is now required to deploy drones in various industries, and domestic companies are also focusing on developing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

In the past, the Korean drone market lacked the infrastructure to conduct research and development for internalization of technology, so foreign drones such as China accounted for most of the demand. The demand for drones was also limited to certain areas such as disaster prevention work. However, as demand for drones increased, it directly led to market expansion, which forced drone manufacturers to adapt to the changing market trends to survive.

In this situation, PRENEU Co., Ltd., a domestic UAV specialized development company, is a notable company in many ways. PRENEU has led the domestic drone market, which turns differentiated technology into a weapon through its expertise in drones and its own research and development. As a result of these efforts, PRENEU products are currently receiving love calls in various industries, including the domestic defense industry, and their technology is recognized in overseas markets.

Targeting the market through differentiated technology

Many drone companies have invested heavily in hardware manufacturing, which is equivalent to the main body of the drone. However, as the domestic drone market grew, various demand sources were created, and the demand for integrated systems that combine existing infrastructure and drones, such as the "Traffic Integrated Control Platform," increased, it was required to develop an interface with a drone-linked system.

This situation served as an opportunity for PRENEU, who has specialized in developing firmware and software, as well as internal electrical equipment inside drones. Because PRENEU was originally based on the network security company 'EXPERNET', it was possible to apply EXPERNET's professional embedded development technology to drone battlefield development.

Taking advantage of these strengths, the company directly mass-produces the main board of the drone's internal electrical equipment. Existing drones often have promiscuous wiring connecting electrical equipment inside their products, but the PRENEU integrates not only wiring but also FC controllers into the board to produce one-board products. And this has become a strength in terms of 'product commercialization'.

Drones are classified into one category through the definition of 'unmanned aircraft', but they are exposed to various environments depending on the field of use. Since the systems required for each situation vary widely, it is difficult to commercialize them like various products from a company's point of view. However, the PRENEU offset this through a one-board drone.

Kang Moo-sung, head of the Fringe Business Division, said, "We will commercialize K-drone through our own competitiveness by focusing on the standardization and consumption convenience of drones through continuous research and development."

A variety of activities in the marketplace

In recognition of the above strengths, PRENEU products are active in various industries. In particular, the K-defense industry (hereinafter referred to as K-bangsan) has classified drones as a "major power support system" in recognition of the need for UAV operation. Already, PRENEU has experience in supplying communication equipment including its drones to the "Speed R&D Project" conducted by K-bangsan for the purpose of developing new weapons, and PRENEU's flagship products such as modular UAV Ruepel and multipurpose multicopter Pandion are still being supplied to the defense market.

In addition, the industrial drone sector is also expanding its business, which was selected as the "Material Parts Technology Development Project" conducted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy last year, and is supplying UAV aircraft, core electrical components, and control systems to various industries.

Overseas markets are also steadily entering the market, and after signing a business agreement with Indonesian robot AI development company "SARI Technology" in September, it recently established a bridgehead for entering the Southeast Asian market through an official agency contract with Terra Drone Technology Malaysia (TDMY). In addition, it is continuing to exchange with markets such as the UK and Germany, where it was not easy for K-drone to enter in the past.

Future value investment

In addition, PRENEU is focusing on expanding its existing business. The UAV product line, which has already been technologically verified, plans to continue to target the private market that is still behind Chinese products by expanding price competitiveness and consumption convenience through continuous research and development. In addition, the company is showing steady interest in UAM (urban air transportation).

Team leader Kang Moo-sung said, "It is true that there are many constraints on direct gas development, but we are constantly reviewing the development of advanced technologies installed in UAM."

Currently, PRENEU is also working on training young people. Originally located at the headquarters of EXPERNET, PRENEU relocated all major facilities to its current headquarters in Danwon-gu, Ansan a few years ago to expand and streamline its business. In addition to manufacturing and producing products, laboratories and educational facilities are also prepared here, where experienced hands-on workers and young researchers collaborate to carry out projects.

In the future, as the trend of unmanned aerial vehicles accelerates, the drone market is expected to expand gradually. Attention is being paid to PRENEU's move to occupy the market and invest in future values based on differentiated technology in the expanding market.
